BBC Young Writer Program
Embark on a transformative journey of Singapore through words ✍️ Join us for a 5-day writing workshop where creativity knows no bounds! Students will unlock their potential and craft their own story, while having the opportunity to learn and research about Singapore’s Myth, Geography, Pioneers, Culinary Tradition and more!
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
o Encourage students to express themselves & their voice authentically through their writing
o Experiment with different styles and techniques to broaden their writing skills
o Uncover hidden heroes and memories of Singapore
LESSON OUTCOME:
o Transform students into avid readers and writers by exposing them to a wide range of literary works from Singapore writers
o Master how to build tension, create pacing, & effectively structure in stories.
o Cultivate a love for reading and writing within students.
DAY 1: What’s in a Story? - Using SINGAPORE MYTH, LEGEND AND FOLKLORE to Discuss S.P.A.C.E
DAY 2: Creating Realistic Characters! - Writing about SINGAPORE PIONEERS
DAY 3: Crafting a Vivid Setting - Exploring MY GRANDFATHER’S ROAD and GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY IN SINGAPORE
DAY 4: Using Figurative and Literary Devices - Using Our 5 Senses to Describe SINGAPORE CULINARY TRADITION
DAY 5: Writing a Strong Ending and Editing Your Story!
After 5 days of lessons, students will go through 2 x 30minute 1-on-1 coaching sessions with our experienced editors and writers to further improve and enhance their story!
All students will receive two printed copies of their own story book (12 to 16 weeks after lesson)

o 培养学生内心深处对阅读和写作的热爱。
第1天：故事里面有什么？ - 使用新加坡神话、传说和民间故事来讨论S.P.A.C.E技巧
第2天：创造真实的角色！ - 关于新加坡先驱者的写作
第3天：塑造生动的背景 - 探索我的祖父的道路和新加坡的地理和历史
第4天：使用比喻和文学手法 - 用我们的五感描述新加坡的烹饪传统
第5天：写一个强有力的结局并编辑你的故事！
经过5天的课程，学生将进行2次时长为30分钟的1对1辅导，与我们经验丰富的编辑和作家进一步改进和提升他们的故事！
所有学生将收到两本自己创作的故事书的印刷副本（课程结束后12到16周）
